What is Thai massage?
Thai massage is an ancient healing practice originating in Thailand, combining acupressure, assisted yoga stretches, and rhythmic compression along energy lines (called 'Sen lines'). Unlike Western massage, you remain fully clothed and no oils are used. It's sometimes called 'lazy yoga' because your therapist moves your body through stretches while you relax.
I've never had a massage before. What should I expect?
Your first visit starts with a short consultation where we'll ask about any health conditions, areas of tension, or preferences. Your therapist will then guide you through the session - there's no need to do anything, just relax and breathe. If anything feels too intense, always let your therapist know and they'll adjust.
What is a pregnancy (prenatal) massage?
Pregnancy massage is specially adapted for expectant mothers after the first trimester. The session uses side-lying positioning with supportive pillows, focusing on relieving common pregnancy discomforts such as lower back pain, hip tension, and leg swelling. All techniques are gentle and safe for both mother and baby.
What hygiene standards do you maintain?
We maintain strict hygiene protocols: all linens, towels, and clothing are freshly laundered for each client; massage mats and surfaces are sanitised between every session; herbal compresses are single-use; and therapists wash hands thoroughly before each treatment. The health and safety of our clients and team is our highest priority.
Are there any health conditions that mean I shouldn't have Thai massage?
Thai massage is not recommended if you have: active blood clots, recent surgery (within 6–8 weeks), severe osteoporosis, open wounds or skin infections, certain cardiovascular conditions, or are in the first trimester of pregnancy. We always conduct a health consultation before your session. If in doubt, please consult your GP and let us know your situation when booking.
